Publicizing an Open House Is Key
While some clients are opposed to public open houses, the uptick in buyer activity suggests it could be worthwhile. At Kurfiss SIR, we make sure we publicize public open houses in the most important venues: realtor.com, trulia.com, openhouse.com, sothebysrealty.com and of course, kurfiss.com, as well in the TRend, the local MLS where agents may look for open houses to attend with clients.
Nosy Neighbors Can Be a Good Thing
Some homeowners are afraid their open house will attract too many people from down the block, but those people can be a solid source of leads — if they love the neighborhood, chances are they might have friends, family or co-workers they want to move to the area.
Keep Your Distance
In order for prospective buyers to feel most comfortable looking at a home, it’s best if sellers leave for open houses and showings. Buyers can better picture themselves in a house when the feel free to sit in a chair and take in a view, or look more closely at finishes and fixtures.
