“River View Estate” in Virginia

A property that originally was part of George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate was the most expensive property sold in March by Sotheby’s International Realty. River View Estate is 16.5 acres located 10 miles from Washington, D.C. It sold for $18,600,000. 2014_03_SS_LR

In exclusive Pelican Point in California, a property consisting of a main residence with six bedrooms, seven and one-half baths and guest residence with three bedrooms, four and four half baths, surrounded by resort-style grounds, was the second highest priced property to sell in April. Sold for $14,700,000, It has panoramic views of coastline, ocean, Catalina Island and a golf course.

In third place is a designer home on Long Island that fronts the ocean. On 2.5 acres with 10,000 square feet of living space, it sold for $14,400,000.

Where was the highest-priced property sale among Sotheby’s International Realty offices in July 2013? Not too surprisingly, it was in The Hamptons, a $25,000,000, 20-acre flag lot in a prime location.
