Why You Will Fall in Love With New Hope PA
Have you fallen in love with New Hope’s warmth, charm, diversity and just can’t stay away? Not yet? Well maybe this post will encourage you to visit or even decide to move close by to this charming town.
New Hope Pennsylvania Has It All
No matter what I am looking for, arts and crafts, galleries, antiques, restaurants, shopping, plays, concerts, nature …it’s all here and more. Driving up to New Hope from Philadelphia, on River Road, is always a joy. With the Delaware River on your right and historic inns on your left, you begin to feel serenity enveloping you.
When driving past Bowman’s Tower, where Washington’s troops spent the night before their famous crossing, you will take a step back in time. Just a few 100 yards north you will find a Wildflower Preserve bursting with color! Once you arrive on Main Street, it’s time to walk around and enjoy the people watching and encourage you to strike up a conversation with everyone you meet. The locals are so friendly and welcoming; it is hard not to fall in love with New Hope. Motorcycles are lined up in front of Fran’s Pub and Havana’s Restaurant and Nightclub. Often you will see bikers sitting outside having lunch with seniors, the hipsters, and families out for lunch, and be impressed with the diversity found in New Hope. Two of our favorite restaurants include Martine’s River House and The Landing, where you can sit outside, along the river and enjoy the boats and ducks going by, as our taste buds are tantalized with inspired menu items.
Things To Do With Kids in New Hope
The bridge to Lambertville is just a few steps away and you are encouraged to walk across or take your bikes on the towpath, along the canal. Shopping for gifts is a must in New Hope. One of our favorite stores is “Love Saves the Day” for vintage clothing and memorabilia. We bought a vintage pink tuxedo from an original member of Bill Haley and the Comets and had it tailored to fit our son! Your children will love riding on the New Hope Railroad’s steam train, especially when it is time for Santa. Sure to be a favorite of yours is the Bucks County Playhouse. Past performances include Love Letters with James Earl Jones, Mothers and Sons with Tyne Daly, and even a Sound of Music sing-a-long! After plays on Friday nights, you can stay to enjoy the fireworks. There is an amazing display every Friday night, in the summer, right on the river!
Be sure to connect with the New Hope Community on Facebook and ask around about the area’s Bed and Breakfast properties like Porches on the Towpath. This Bucks County art community is lively and free spirited with plenty of things to do in New Hope Pennsylvania. After you fall in love, give us a call to find homes for sale in New Hope.
