About Me

Jim Elliott has been a realtor in the Philadelphia area for 10 years. He has worked with clients in the city limits and suburban areas, including first-time home buyers as well as seasoned buyers and investors. With the Sotheby's International Realty family, he is able to combine his experience and expertise with that of other agents who have also been in the business for many years.

Jim is currently the owner and manager of multiple rental properties. He has found it to be a good learning opportunity to manage the properties that he owns and is also able to take a practical look at evaluating the true value of a property as a result of this. In addition to his own properties he has worked with investor/developer clients and has a detailed understanding of this type of real estate transaction.

In addition to working as a realtor, Jim has spent many years in the local pharmaceutical industry, as an engineer in both process development and in automation implementation and support. Working in the industry, he was able to gain an appreciation for highly regulated methods of performing activities. The pharmaceutical industry heightens one's attention to detail as many activities are driven by detailed procedure.

Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry Jim spent several years in the pathology department of a local cancer research and treatment institution. The research activities that he was involved with afforded an appreciation for the patience and creativity that are vital in that field of work.

A native of Detroit, Jim obtained a B.S. degree in Chemistry and a B.S. degree in Biology, both from Wayne State University in Detroit. The university is named after General Anthony Wayne – better known in our market area from his achievements in the American Revolution, now memorialized with statues of him in Valley Forge Park and at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Jim relocated to the metropolitan Philadelphia area about 20 years ago.

Jim has a serious interest in aviation. His father was an aircraft mechanic for 50 years and Jim finds it natural to be around aircraft. He is currently working towards obtaining a pilot's license in the near future. Quite a few years ago he discovered the sport of soccer, not just as a spectator but as a player as well, and he enjoys the camaraderie of this team sport. In addition to soccer, Jim picked up the guitar as a hobby. He has joined with a few other band mates to play on a regular basis. It has been a fun experience and he has enjoyed playing for live audiences on a few occasions.
