Because they love their pets past and present, Donald and Douglas Pearson hosted approximately 100 guests at their home overlooking the Delaware River in New Hope on May 5, 2013, to raise funds for the Bucks County SPCA.

Beth Kittrell, director of development at the Bucks County SPCA, provided guests with an update on Brooke, the Labrador retriever found tied to a rock in the Neshaminy Creek in April, and on other difficult rescue cases that the shelter recently handled. Brooke, by the way, was heading to her forever home in the weeks right after the event.

All proceeds from the Pearsons’ event went to support the shelter’s work on behalf of homeless animals. The event was held in honor or Ronaldo, Donald’s Great Dane who passed away in 2012. Visit the Bucks County SPCA web site to learn more about the organization’s work.
