    Skippack is a charming Montgomery County village. The district is full of American history and exists today as a thriving commercial district surrounded by desirable neighborhoods and estates.

    German immigrants were among the first Europeans to settle here. This relatively small wave of immigrants was the same wave that settled Germantown and other villages along the Schuylkill River. They brought with them agriculture, textile know-how and German-style construction. A handful of these buildings still stand today.

    Skippack is now defined by a central commercial district filled with restaurants, antique shops, wineries, art galleries, ice cream shops, nurseries and other curiosities. On the weekends, the town comes alive with visitors eager to explore the nooks and crannies of this town.

    Evansburg State Park borders the town. The large park provides space for hiking, fishing, picnicking and camping. Skippack Creek runs the length of the park, meandering through the forest. Stables nearby also provide trail riding/horseback riding lessons. Saddlebrook Equestrian, located back in town, provides early childhood equestrian training.

    Nearby, find multiple golf courses–Lederach Golf Course, Mainland Golf Course, Worcester Golf Club and Skippack Golf Club to name a few. A residence in the Lederach Golf Community is a great choice for the true golf aficionado. For those who aren’t into getting 18 in, the course is immaculately maintained and makes for spectacular scenery.

    Residence choices abound in Skippack. The aforementioned Lederach Golf Course is a very popular neighborhood and a good example of new construction homes in the area. On the other hand, there are plenty of historic, stone-homes available as well. About 80% of homes in Skippack are single-family detached. New construction town homes however, are also available. The median home value in Skippack is roughly $377,000.
