  • Description

Designed to stand out and fit in its Old City location.

Built in 2004 on a vacant lot in Old City, 108 Arch is a beautifully designed boutique-sized condominium building with 30 units. With brick, zinc and big windows creating a 12-story facade that fits surprisingly well with its low-rise, historical neighbors, 108 Arch is an appealing building inside and out. Its east and west walls have windows placed “hither and thither” and a striated cladding so that the portions towering over the older buildings have visual interest and add daylight to the bedrooms in the building. Floors 2 – 5 have four units per floor. The atmosphere is somewhat more private on floors 6 – 11 with just two units per floor and elevators that open into each unit; the penthouse takes over the entire 12th floor.

Each condominium at 108 Arch is finished with sleek, ultramodern kitchens and baths with quality appliances and fixtures that are better than those found in many buildings of this same vintage. The main living areas were designed to be open living/dining/kitchen space. Units are finished with bamboo flooring and oversized windows for excellent natural light. Many apartments have gas fireplaces. Most have large balconies. All have in-unit washers and dryers.

Naturally, units on the higher floors have better views – some with fantastic Delaware River and Ben Franklin Bridge vistas.

Most every condo at 108 Arch has a parking space. The building has a concierge (not 24/7 but that does not seem to be an issue for residents) is pet friendly.

The area is art-gallery-central. Reading Terminal Market is a short walk as are many favorite city shops and restaurants. For commuters, access to I-95 is just a few blocks away.

About this Area

Old City

Old City is the sort of place where you might expect Benjamin Franklin to stroll past on his way to pay a visit to Betsy Ross at her home at 239 Arch Street. After all, the neighborhood is home to Independence National Historical Park and the many buildings where our Founding Fathers hammered out and debated the principles that guided the founding of the United States of America. Many cobblestone streets still exist....
