1900 Rittenhouse is one of Rittenhouse Square’s “grand dame” buildings. Completed in 1926, it exudes old-world craftsmanship and high style, so much so in 1985 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. A green awning, cover for doormen, leads to a truly elegant, curved lobby with inlaid terrazzo flooring and ornate plasterwork. Three elevators serve the 45 apartments in the building.
Positioned on the south side of Rittenhouse Square, 1900 Rittenhouse showcases a smooth limestone facade punctuated by decorative wrought iron. Read more about its architecture here. There are a few one-bedroom units. Most are two-bedroom or three-bedroom homes. Modern times have caught up with this historical gem: Many of the 1900 Rittenhouse condos that have been sold in the past year have been renovated, some to a very high level, with chef’s kitchens and newer baths.
Association fees at 1900 Rittenhouse include common area and exterior maintenance, sewer, water, snow removal and trash removal.
