Kurfiss Sotheby’s International Realty is pleased to sponsor “Opening Doors,” on Thursday, Oct. 2. This event will take place at the home of Karen and Jeff Regan in Chestnut Hill and will feature a dinner by noted restaurateur Marc Vetri. Tickets are $125/person and all proceeds benefit Community Partnership School (CPS).
Founded in 2006, CPS is an innovative, independent elementary school, dedicated to providing an affordable, high-quality education to children from low-wealth, low-income backgrounds in North Philadelphia. Located in North Central Philadelphia and serving one of the city’s lowest-income neighborhoods, CPS provides small class sizes; a 7:1 student to teacher ratio; state-of-the-art technology in the classroom; and hands-on, inquiry based learning methods. The school’s 91 students span pre-kindergarten through fifth grade and most of its students go on to private secondary schools. Families are engaged throughout the process, providing a more holistic approach to education.
“Having visited Community Partnership School and seen first-hand the programs it offers its students, I am very proud to have Kurfiss sponsor this event,” says Donald Pearson, chairman of Kurfiss Sotheby’s International Realty. “This school provides critical opportunities for children from some of the city’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods, and it is an organization I am sure we’ll continue to support going forward.”
