Donna Tyson joins Kurfiss Sotheby’s International Realty’s Bucks County real estate office having been a licensed realtor since 1988. You might say that a career in real estate was inevitable for Donna. She grew up surrounded by the real-estate development business and worked in her family’s civil engineering, land surveying and planning firm. After graduating from Georgian Court College with a degree in elementary education, she taught first grade for 12 years in a New Jersey public-school district, still finding time to prepare site plan and subdivision applications and conduct parcel and title searches at her family’s firm.
When Donna began a full-time real-estate career, she worked as an agent for Bielat Santore & Company, a prominent commercial brokerage in New Jersey specializing in hospitality properties, package-goods stores and liquor licenses. Donna grew her network and closed transactions in this sector, including some with national retailers. The next phase of her career melded her real-estate experience with her interest in nature and landscaping when she began selling, designing and installing large-scale interior foliage installations for atriums and other commercial spaces. Her commercial real-estate interests extended to managing a retail strip center in Toms River, N.J., and the founding a detail-cleaning firm with commercial clients in multiple states.
Now, as a long-time resident of New Hope, Pa., with strong connections to New Jersey and real-estate licenses in both states, Donna brings a wealth of experience and deep understanding of the local real-estate market. She lives along the Delaware River in New Hope and has a special love for the waterfront properties and historical stone farm houses that dot Bucks and Hunterdon counties. She appreciates the diversity of our market’s housing stock, including Mid-Century Modern design, development homes and condos and townhouses, and especially enjoys the viewscapes and topography of our market. Some people say teachers and nurses make the best real-estate agents because they are good listeners and want to help people. Donna Tyson is the perfect example of this maxim.
